This often means that in <strong>high pressure stations <\/strong>solids and liquids have to be filtered out, the pressure has to be reduced, and the gas may need to be preheated to compensate the cooling effect of the pressure reduction (Joule-Thomson effect). Moreover, the downstream consumers need to be protected for over-pressurization from the transmission line.<br>An accurate pressure control is the main contributor to the smooth flow of gas into transmission lines.
